Your Best Work has been my Consulting Firm for four years, helping to bring direction and insight to clients in industries ranging from Hospitality to Advertisement to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Noted Accomplishments include:
- Migrated instance deployment from a Chef-Solo bootstrap method to AWS Chef Automate, greatly reducing the presence of ‘hand-finished’ nodes in both development and production environments, delivered with comprehensive documentation, so developers can improve and contribute to the proces of deployment.
- Designed and deployed a multi-environment observability system using Sensu for instance notifications and Prometheus for application metrics, significantly reducing cluster and resource downtime.
- Deployed Grafana-based dashboarding systems and lead regular training sessions for developer use of both project and technology-specific dashboards, data sources and collections methods, thus increasing department ownership and responsibility of their metrics.
- Conducted security audit of client AWS infrastructure and deployed dedicated site-to-site office VPN and out-of-office OpenVPN connections, retiring hundreds of globally exposed addresses open to SSH and drastically reducing developer threat vectors in their daily workflow.

A custom software and integrations firm with globally distributed talent and high-ask clientele, 729 was an opportunity to develop skills in finding the balance between productivity and empathy in the midst of a burgeoning pandemic.
Noted Accomplishments Include:
- Performed routine security and cost management audits on over a dozen AWS accounts to bring all resources within CIS and NIST compliance standards while reducing capital expenditure by over 40%.
- Installed, maintained and upgraded multiple instances of the Github Enterprise platform serving the code management needs of hundreds of engineers.
- Migrated all offices over to a distributed password management solution, including several seminars on best practice and secure secrets management methodologies.
- Deployed company-wide VPN solution, improving security practices away from using insecure unmanaged IP addresses for client development.

A quickly expanding manufacturing analytics start-up and pioneer of the “Digital Twin” concept of object representation, Sight Machine was the first step into a love of project coordination and productivity theory.
Noted Accomplishments include:
- Coordinated with Product Development and Company Liaisons for conciliating high risk clients.
- Lead deployment of new Monitoring and Alerting system, based in Prometheus and AlertManager.
- Deployed a Grafana-based dashboarding system and lead regular walkthroughs for developer use.
- Managed Chef Development of our primary application while applying monitoring using Grafana and statsd.
